2 ways we deal with emotions

Bottler, Brooder Yey

Bottlers are those of us who jam down difficult emotions and continue their day.

Is is mainly seen as a sign of maturity because people will think along this line: see he is so calm, he is well in touch with his emotions.

If fact he avoids them completely until he kills someone. Yey.

Brooders are the people that spiral out of control with hurt, failures & anxiety, incessant worrying.

They are the kind of people who don't stop complaining as a mask of avoiding their shortcomings. That's their way of "fixing their issues". They are not fun people to hang with but at least they are in touch with their emotions, in a weird dangerous way. While worrying is usually about the future, brooders are focusing on the past exhausting their energy into things that cannot be changed.

I'm both of them. In fact I was even conscious of them when I did one or another but to me it felt like ways in which I dealt with things, avoiding them or letting them consume me.

I started hating the states so bad.

Without knowing how to deal with them I've found great help in focusing my mind on the present. Even if that present is a boring empty wall or ceiling.

The power of concentration. Yey
